If you have noticed your LinkedIn posts getting less traction than they used to, you are not imagining it. Something changed.
LinkedIn shifted the way it decides who sees your content. It is no longer just counting likes and comments. The platform now uses AI to understand what your post is actually about and who would genuinely find it useful. That means the old playbook, broad advice, curiosity hooks, generic motivational posts, is quietly working against the very people who rely on it most.
I work with professionals every day who are frustrated by this. They are doing everything they were told to do. Posting consistently. Using hashtags. Asking engagement questions. And still watching their reach flatline.
Here is what I want you to understand: this is not a content problem. It is a strategy problem.
What actually changed
LinkedIn now evaluates your presence as one unified professional identity, not a feed disconnected from your profile. Your headline, your About section, and what you post either reinforce each other or send a mixed signal. A strong post from an unclear profile does not travel far.
Relevance also outweighs reach. A focused voice with a smaller, engaged audience will consistently outperform a broad audience with no clear point of view. You do not need more followers. You need more clarity about what you stand for and who that message is for.
And the opening line of your post matters more than ever. Clever hooks built for curiosity used to work. Now clarity wins. The algorithm and your reader both need to understand what the post is about within the first two lines.
What this means for you
If your LinkedIn presence has felt disconnected from actual opportunities, whether that is recruiter interest, client inquiries, or simply being seen as the expert you are, the fix is not posting more. It is aligning your profile, your content, and your engagement around a clear professional story.
That is exactly what I am walking through this Thursday.
